Different components are used depending on the task required, such as line scanners, area scan cameras, code readers or sensors. Packs outside the tolerance range are ejected.

Even minor contamination in the sealing area of the film can cause the packs to no longer comply with the need for absolute seal integrity. To guarantee the best-before date of a food or sterile medical product, the pack has to be airtight. In the case of the MULTIVAC I 420 Vision System, you can check the seal area inside the thermoforming packaging machine utilizing a line scan camera and precisely where the film and the seal seam are fed.
